Jay Ford holds a PhD from Princeton University and an MTS from Vanderbilt Divinity School. He is author of two books: Jōkei and Buddhist Devotion in Early Medieval Japan (Oxford, 2006) and The Divine Quest, East and West: A Comparative Study of Ultimate Realities (SUNY, 2016). He is currently at work on a social history of Mahāyāna Buddhism (Wiley). Jay is also a founding member of the Winston-Salem Dharma Community.
