Duane Bidwell

Professor of Practical Theology, Spiritual Care, and Counseling Claremont School of Theology at Willamette University

Duane Bidwell is professor of practical theology, spiritual care, and counseling at Claremont School of Theology at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. Author of When One Religion Isn't Enough: The Lives of Spiritually Fluid People (Beacon, 2018), he has written or edited five books and publishes frequently on the practical and pastoral implications of Buddhist-Christian thought. He serves on the board of the Taos Institute, an international educational organization that promotes social and relational approaches to knowledge and practice; on the steering committee of the Innovations in Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care unit of the American Academy of Religion; and on the editorial board of the International Journal of Collaborative-Dialogic Practices. He is working on a textbook titled Comparative Pastoral Theology: Caring Across Traditions.
